Advertised in the Philippine Daily Inquirer Page C3 today is the Acer Aspire One ultra portable PC priced at only P18,800.00. The Acer Aspire One has the folowing features:

* 512MB DDR2 SDRAM (expandable to 1GB)

The 8.9″ screen is smaller than MSI Wind's 10" but is priced lower, even lower than what Acer Aspire One fetches for in Hongkong at HK$3,500. Hongkong Dollars is roughly equivalent to 6 pesos a dollar.

Prepaid Card scam

A reader emailed me to warn about this so-called prepaid card scam.

This scam is about globe/smart prepaid cards business. Apparently, this hacker will hack your yahoo mail and messenger and will use your identity by chatting with your friends on your yahoo messenger and will ask a favor to buy him/her prepaid cards. He/she will then promise to pay you back the next day. After getting the PIN numbers of the cards, he/she will not reply anymore. I have been victimized by this hacker who used my identity to get money from my friends.

So there, we all had been warned. A preemptive strike is a good precaution. We should email all our YM and Yahoo Mail contacts to inform them that you will never, "ever" ask them for cellphone loads! lol..but yeah, better safe than sorry..your reputation or whatever is left of it, is at stake!

MSI Wind, HP Mini Note or Asus eee PC?

I plan on getting a UMPC, an ultraportable mobile PC, if you please, but i just can't decide on what to get at this time, i'm choosing between an HP Mini Note, an ASUS E900 or the MSI Wind.
