It pays to write it yourself

It's true blogging pays, last month alone i earned $700 on my blogs and i should have done it way earlier than waste my time doing all sort of things on those social networking sites and chatting on YM and Skype. And i would have earned more if not for a stupid thing i did because of something i have read online. You see, before, i was not doing well on my Adsense earnings and i then researched the net high and low on how to fairly improve my Google revenue.

And that is when i stumbled upon some shitty site who at first seemed reliable by posting his Adsense earnings proof. That site explained that Adsense had introduced Smart Pricing and that one should take out ads placed in multiple sites, which i have, and i did because i think i will now have better revenue. Wrong. And the gullible in me took it the wrong way too, basically because i was just new to blogging, and what i did was the unthinkable next.

I deleted all my blogs except for the one with a good Adsense revenue. And those blogs i deleted were getting a pretty respectable traffic if i were to gauge it on the Top Blogs rankings now. Those were pretty good niche sites too. One became a hit with a blogging network with an audience intended for North America that they featured it in their publications in Europe and Canada, mind you! (And they thought i was a US resident, roflol) And the greedy in me thought i will earn more by Smart Pricing by deleting all my blogs except for one. Turned out, for one to make money on Adsense, you have to maintain so many sites or maintain one but write so many posts a day. Word of advice, Don't just copy paste from another site, you not only get the ire of the writer but Google itself punishes duplicate content, and in the long run, your blog will not last long.

I guess that was my growing pains in blogging. Now, my blogs are in a strong position in their respective niche. But to this day, i really regret those blogs i deleted that can never be recovered, even the Internet Archive does not have them. I could have earned an additional $100 to $300 on them a month. So i guess my advice to novice bloggers, don't believe everything you read on the net from so-called SEO experts, money making gurus, etc.. build your content by writing it yourself and follow trends searched for by users. It pays to write it yourself.
