Ipit Taxi Gang

I came across this piece of Metro news in an online paper and i say this is very very disturbing a modus operandi. Some Pinoys are getting clever in their ways on how to effectively rob somebody. I just hope the police is going to act on these dastardly acts soon. This random act is really fair game and could happen to anyone. Imagine riding a taxi and go through this ordeal.

'Ipit Taxi Gang', sumalakay sa QC

Naka-iskor na naman ang mga miyembro ng kilabot na ‘Ipit-Taxi Gang’ sa Quezon City matapos mabiktima ang isang Human Resource Officer.

Tangayan ng P20,000 cash, cellphone at alahas ang biktimang nakilalang si Marichu Gosob, 29-anyos.

Ayon sa inisyal na imbestigasyon ng pulisya, modus operandi ng grupo na gumamit ng taxi sa pangho-holdap.

Nabatid na sumakay ng taxi ang biktima at nagpahatid sa Pasay pero nag-iba ito ng ruta at dinala siya sa isang gasolinahan sa Scout Fuentebella kung saan pumasok ang isang lalaki na kasabwat ng driver at tinutukan siya ng patalim.

Matapos makapanlimas ay mabilis na tumakas ang mga suspek at inwan sa nasabing lugar ang biktima.

Earlier this year, caught on video was another "taxi" modus operandi where the taxi driver would snatch a girl's handbag from the driver's window and then deliberately drag the pedestrian to not be able to run after the taxi driver (as if anyone would) or even remember its plate number. Hayy..these are dangerous times...belatedly, I also remember that there is this "Dura Gang" too, and an incident experienced by a doctor posted in his multiply blog involving these hideous creatures. The "Dura gang" would literally spit in your shirt and then points you to the fact of that spit which purpose is actually to distract you in order for him and his cohorts to take your valuables.
