In case you own a blog or website and you want to not pepper it with too many unsightly ads, you may opt to instead accept PayPal donations from your readers. This tutorial will teach you how from scratch and will even teach you how to modify the Donate Now button (my next installment, watch out for it) to suit your needs.
The Make a Donation button lets you start accepting contributions immediately. To create a button follow these steps:
1. Sign up for a Paypal account here.
In order to fully appreciate the power of Paypal and for you to benefit its full service features for the Philippines, you need to sign up too for a Union Bank EON Visa debit card, in that way you can be a verified Paypal account holder/business and withdraw funds to your EON Visa debit card which can then be withdrawn through ATM. But you can sign up later after you have set up your PayPal account.
2. After signing up, an email will be sent to you, so be sure to use a working email address you have acccess of. Plus the fact that PayPal works by using email addresses. People sends you money just by using your email address. So to get going Login to your PayPal account.
3. Click the Merchant Tools tab, and then click Donations (under Website Payments).
4. Fill in a name and ID number, if you wish. A Donate Now button's name and ID number, like the Item Name/Service and Item ID/Number in a Buy Now button, let you and your contributors identify payments. By using different numbers and descriptions, you can place a number of buttons on your site, each soliciting donations to different programs.
5. Enter an amount or leave blank if you want your donors to enter an amount themselves. Either way, you'll need to select a currency in which donations will be made.
6. Choose from the selection of PayPal donation buttons, or specify the URL of your own button image. (Yes, you can make your own Donation button design)
7. Choose the encrypted or unencrypted version of the button. If you're not sure which one to use, choose the unencrypted version; you can replace it later with an encrypted one once your button is functioning.
Unencrypted buttons are plain HTML forms—easy to read, understand, and modify. An encrypted button, on the other hand, is inscrutable to anyone but the PayPal system and impossible to modify or customize.
While unencrypted buttons can be created with any software tool, encrypted buttons can, be created only with the PayPal system's Merchant Tools. Encrypted buttons can be useful in some situations, such as to protect your email address from spammers. Openness, however, is usually best.
8. Click Create Button Now when you're done.
9. The HTML code generated for your button is found in a text area box on the next page. Just select its contents, press Ctrl-C to copy the text to the clipboard or right click and copy, and then paste the text into your web page.
10. Voila! you now have a Donation button ready for receiving money from generous readers. If these information was useful to you, you can also donate some to me, my Donate Now button is on the right. Thank you

This configuration is working perfectly using ZT321, Baizhao 8928 and IPhone Clone A380 and probably will work using other China Phones.
If your SIM card is previously activated using other phones specially those phones supported by Globe and Smart, no need to activate your SIM. This is also valid for postpaid users since SIM cards are pre-activated for MMS, GPRS and other services.
But if your SIM is not yet activated or never been used for MMS and GPRS, you need to activate your SIM before you can use MMS and GPRS services.
For Smart SIM, you can use your China Phones to activate MMS and GPRS by simply sending/texting MMS ON / GPRS ON to 333 (I don’t know if this number is still valid). No need to download the configuration for Smart. Just use the configuration I’ve given.
For Globe SIM, this is a little bit harder and need some workaround. I tried to call Globe Customer Service but they cannot activate your SIM manually on their system and the only way to activate it is by downloading the configuration thru text or by asking them to send the configuration. But since China Phones are not yet supported by any Service Provider, what you can do is to active MMS and GPRS using another phone. Monitor until your SIM is activated then transfer your SIM in your China Phone and enjoy surfing and sending MMS.
Configurations for Sony Ericsson p900 also works in China made phones.

Smartbro defrauding consumers
Philippine wireless internet provider Smart Bro, recently introduced Smart Bro Plan 799. They dubbed it " Internet kahit saan? Just plug it" with a fraudelent claim that users will be able to access the Internet with speeds ranging from 384 to 768 kbps.
Those speed is of a 3G network coverage, and Smart's 3G coverage is limited to certain areas only mostly in the urban areas and not in the advertised anywhere in the country claim.
The truth is it will not reach those claimed broadband speed all the time if the person who uses the supplied USB modem by Smartbro 799 is in an area with GPRS only connectivity. The actual speed of GPRS will only burst up to 60kbps!
If you're stupid enough to avail of the dubious plan of Smartbro, requirements include a monthly salary of P12,000, and any of the following financial documents: latest income tax return, current bank statement, or bank certification letter. A one-time charge for the modem costs P1,999.

How to Connect 2 PC's without router
Connecting two PC's without a router can be of several purposes. Maybe you bought a new PC and want to transfer your documents from the old PC to the new PC. Or you can share internet connection between two PC's...You can do so in 6 ways:
1. If both machines have a network card installed, purchase a 6 - 10ft CAT5 RJ48 crossover cable and simply connect the two computers through the NIC's/Ethernet cards on each PC. After using the crossover cable, you'll need to set up file and printer sharing on each computer, create the EXACT same username and password on both computers, and then share out the directories in question.
2. Use a null modem or laplink cable. It is a special type of parallel cable with male connectors on both ends. You can buy this type of cable in any computer store. Plug the cable into the parallel port of each PC.
3. Transfer files between two USB-enabled PCs with a USB2-LINK cable (also known as: USB file sharing cable, USB file transfer Cable, PC USB data link, USB 2.0 bridge cables USB peer-to-peer link cable file sharing cable) , without having to buy other expensive equipment, such as Ethernet cards, cables, etc. Simply load the software and plug the file sharing cable into each USB-enabled computer.
4. Taking the old hard drive from the computer and setting the jumpers on the hard drive to make it a slave. Then install it in the new computer as a second hardrive. This will give you all the data and licenses, that are on the old hard drive and could serve as additional hard drive storage space. The process isn't all that difficult when it comes to moving the hardware from the old box to the new and it keeps your files in your hands instead of going away to somewhere else with the old computer.
5. And speaking of going away somewhere else, it could also be a lot simpler if you just need some files that are not more than the allowed attachment. Yes, you can email it to your email address and retrieve it later to your new pc, but this would need a broadband internet connection. One option is to upload up to 1 GB of data to YouSendIt.com then download it to your new PC. YouSendit is a free service. The files you send will remain there for 7 days before they're deleted automatically, or you can delete them yourself when you're done. There's also an option to send the files using https if you need encryption.
6. Burn those files into a dvd..it could be several dvd's..or save yourself the frustration by getting yourself a flash drive or micro drive.
But if you're not in a tight budget, it's a really good idea to get a router to act not just to connect two or even several PC's but act as a hardware firewall too.

Things You Never Knew Your Cell Phone Could Do
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies. Your mobile phone can actually be a lifesaver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:
1. The emergency number worldwide for mobile networks is 112.
If you find yourself out of coverage area of your mobile network and there is an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you, and this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked.
2. Have you locked your keys in the car? Does your car have remote keys? This may come in handy some day, and it's a good reason to own a cell phone:
If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk). Note: It works fine! I've tried it and it unlocked my car over a cell phone!
3. Hidden battery power
Imagine your cell battery is very low, you are expecting an important call, and you don't have a charger. Nokia phones come with a reserve battery. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell will restart with this reserve and the phone will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell next time.
4. How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone: *#06#. A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. Please take note that this procedure works so far only with Nokia phones. But all mobile phones have an International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) which is a number unique to every GSM and UMTS mobile phone. It is usually found printed on or underneath the phone's battery.
This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe. If your phone is stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody did this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
