Philippine wireless internet provider Smart Bro, recently introduced Smart Bro Plan 799. They dubbed it " Internet kahit saan? Just plug it" with a fraudelent claim that users will be able to access the Internet with speeds ranging from 384 to 768 kbps.
Those speed is of a 3G network coverage, and Smart's 3G coverage is limited to certain areas only mostly in the urban areas and not in the advertised anywhere in the country claim.
The truth is it will not reach those claimed broadband speed all the time if the person who uses the supplied USB modem by Smartbro 799 is in an area with GPRS only connectivity. The actual speed of GPRS will only burst up to 60kbps!
If you're stupid enough to avail of the dubious plan of Smartbro, requirements include a monthly salary of P12,000, and any of the following financial documents: latest income tax return, current bank statement, or bank certification letter. A one-time charge for the modem costs P1,999.
